Madushani specialises in the design and fabrication of nanoarchitectonic systems and extracellular vesicle (EV)-based biointerfaces for cancer biosensing, diagnostics, and translational nanomedicine.
Madushani Dahanayake is a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) scholar whose research focuses on the design and fabrication of novel nanostructures and nano-diagnostic technologies for cancer theranostics. Her work integrates nanotechnology, nanobiotechnology, and materials science to develop next-generation platforms for the detection and monitoring of cancer-associated biomarkers. Currently, she is investigating alloy nanozymes as catalytic signal amplification materials for point-of-care extracellular vesicle (EV) biosensing, with a particular focus on ovarian cancer diagnostics. Her broader research interests include nanoarchitectonics, EV technologies, nanozyme-enabled biosensing, nanomedicine, and the development of rapid, accessible diagnostic tools for precision healthcare.
