Dr Yao Lu specialises in developing different kinds of functional nanoparticles for novel applications in healthcare
The fabricated nanoparticles, including targeted liposomes, calcium phosphate/cisplatin based core-shell nanoparticles, PLGA nanoparticles, etc., have been applied for targeted-drug delivery and vaccine delivery. Their effects have been tested in cellular level and animal level. Current research activities focus on the development of mesoporous silica nano-vaccines for immunotherapy. Relevant formulations are being tested for therapy of malignant melanoma in animal models.
