Development of methods for protein conjugation to polyisocyanopeptides.

​Sortase mediated ligations are being used more often in biochemistry. In this project I will focus on the development of tools to use these sortases to conjugate proteins to polyisocyanopeptides. Functionalization of polyisocyanopeptides with a snake-venom protein, that shows coagulatic activity, might generate a class of functional biomaterials that might be useful in wound management applications. 

​Nick obtained his bachelor degree in Biomedical Engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology. Currently he is finishing his Masters degree in Biomedical Engineering as an occupational trainee in the Biomimetics group  (Rowan group), at the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology.
