Dr Beltramini specialises in in the main areas of Petroleum Refining and Biomass Conversion Technologies, Solid State Catalysis, Surface Characterization, Material Science, Reactor Design and Modelling

His present research interests include the development of new nanoporous siliceous and non-siliceous materials and their functionalization to be used as catalysts for new sustainable green chemical technologies as well as innovative membrane reactors.   During the last 5 years he had strongly worked on conversion of biomass to liquid fuels and chemicals as well as on development of new materials as energy storage systems for which he created an  intense international research collaborations networks.  At present he is also  Invited Visiting Professor at IROAST, Kumamoto University working in the areas of materials and energy.

Dr Jorge Beltramini, is a Senior Research Fellow with more than 25 years of experience in the main areas of Petroleum Refining Technologies, Solid State Catalysis, Surface Characterization, Material Science, Reactor Design and Modelling. He held academic and industrial appointments in Argentina, Saudi Arabia and Australia. He is a recognized authority in the field of catalysis sciences as testified by the more than 160 scientific and technical papers delivered at international forums and published in international referee Journals. He is also. reviewer of several high quality journals: Applied Catalysis A and B, Journal Catalysis, ACS Chemistry and Materials, Fuels & Energy, Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research.

During the last 5 years, he had strongly worked on conversion of biomass to liquid fuels and chemicals as well as on development of new materials as energy storage systems. In this way  created an  intense international research collaborations networks with National Catalysis Centre at ITT Madras, National Chemical Laboratories in Pune, Indian Institute of Chemical Technology in Hyderabad, BESU, IIT Roorke and IIT Kharagpur in India, as well as DICP, Zhenjiang University and the National Bamboo Institute in China and the Institute of Engineering and Chemical Sciences in Singapore from where different MOU where implemented.   He expanded his research network into Europe and South America where frequently presented his work at international forums and act as research consultant.

Industry Engagement

He also conducts industrial consultation work on areas related with renewable energy with companies such as:  Saudi Aramco Oil.CO., Rio Tinto Alcan, Skillpro Australia,  Exergen ,  Timber Queensland, Southern Oil Refinery and Baoshan Steel Co, Shanghai.
