Daniek specialises in polymerisation and bioconjugation

The research is based on azide-terminated polyisocyanides that are functionalized with peptides and subsequently attached to proteins. The first part of the internship will be focused on the polymerization reaction, the second part on the attachment of a BCN-functionalized peptide to the polymers and the last part will be focused on bioconjugation.

Daniek received in 2015 her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology. After that, she started her Master program in Biomedical Engineering and did her graduation project in the group of Bert Meijer. The project was focused on investigating the effect and incorporation of functionalized monomers in supramolecular fibers. For the last part of her Master program she has joined the group of Alan Rowan for an internship.
