Bioinspired nanomaterials for drug delivery
Mr Russell Wilson's research is focused on creating next-generation core-shell materials using methods inspired by nature. He is investigating the formation of silica at the solid-solid interface to encapsulate nanomaterials or drugs to control toxicity, degradation and targeting of nanoparticles for cancer treatment. Using peptide and proteins inspired by nature to synthesise silica shells we can make safer and more biocompatible materials than traditional methods.
Russell Wilson received his BSc (Hons) from the University of Tasmania in 2016 majoring in chemistry and biochemistry with honours in chemistry.
