Devin's research focuses on fluorescence microscopy of polyisocyanide hydrogels.

For the duration of her project, Devin is synthesising and manipulating azide-functionalised polyisocyanide hydrogels. She is working under Dr. Petri Turunen to develop an advanced fluorescence imaging device, utilising confocal microscopy in conjunction with rheology. The aim of her research is to investigate mechanotransduction and the complex interactions between cells and their extracellular matrix under applied stress.

Devin is a fourth year undergraduate student at the University of Toledo Honours College in the United States of America. She is studying biomedical engineering with a focus in tissue engineering and a minor in chemistry. In August 2017 she joined the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology as a research scholar in the Rowan group.
