Evaluation of Nanoparticles on Tumor Spheroids

Nanoparticles hold a tremendous potential in delivering therapeutic agents to cancer cells while decreasing side effects of healthy tissues. This project utilizes microfluidics to synthesize drug loaded liposome, PLGA and PLGA liposome particles. Microfluidic platforms are advantageous in the creation of nanoparticles because of the ability to controllably synthesise particles. Courtney focuses on the effect the stiffness and size of nanoparticles have on the penetration and drug delivery to tumour spheroids. ‚Äč
