Design and development of processes for various waste to energy technologies

​Dr Hasan is currently involved in developing novel technology and catalyst for conversion of various waste streams such as biomass, plastics and municipal solid waste. He is currently working with a wide range of technologies e.g. catalytic pyrolysis, gasification, solvolytic liquefaction, carbonisation, and hydrothermal processing. Some of his work includes converting agricultural and forestry waste to fuels and chemicals, efficient conversion of waste plastic by innovative catalysis. 

​Dr Hasan is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Australian Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN). He is also involved with the School of Chemical Engineering at UQ. He did his bachelor in Chemical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET). After that he worked as professional process engineer at multiple companies before moving to Australia for his PhD. Dr Hasan completed his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Curtin University, Perth. He developed the process for a novel pyrolysis technology during his PhD and scaled it up to a demonstration plant during his post-doctoral appointment at Curtin.
