Vishnuvardhan Mahamkali is pursuing his PhD on understanding the energy and redox metabolism of acetogens and thus to increase their product spectrum.

His project involves using various modelling techniques such as thermodynamic metabolic flux analysis (tMFA) and kinetic models to get insight into acetogens metabolism.

Vishnu received his Master of Technology in Biochemical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India. Later, he worked in Tata Research Development and Design Centre, Pune, India, where he worked on modelling and analysis of M. tuberculosis metabolism.
