Organic materials for energy storage devices
This project investigates the mechanism of the new redox mediator in order to optimize rechargeability of lithium-oxygen batteries and hence their overall efficiency. Iitroxyl radicals in 2, 2, 6, 6-tetramethylpiperidinyl-N-oxyl (TEMPO) bearing polymers have been mainly used as organic electroactive materials due to their high stability of radicals, excellent reversibility and fast kinetics in redox reaction. Recently, TEMPO-bearing polymers have been utilized as redox mediator for lithium-oxygen battery.
