Project Summary

This innovative project aims to create a new type of artificial hybrid extracellular matrices, using thermo-responsive polymers (PIC) and cellulose nanofibers (CNF) to precisely mimic matrix-matrix and cell–matrix interactions. One of the main aims of this project is to expand the library of artificial extracellular matrices and synthetic polymer tools for biomimetic applications. These novel extracellular matrices, with superior fidelity to natural extracellular matrices, will offer significant advantages for a range of biological applications requiring greater precision than is currently available from these products.
