It’s here – UQ’s biggest reunion ever. Back to UQ is being held on Sunday 7 August.

Coinciding with UQ Open Day, Back to UQ offers free, alumni-exclusive talks, tours, and meet-ups, followed by sunset drinks at the stunning new Patina at Alumni Court restaurant.

AIBN is also opening our doors to UQ alumni and offering a chance to hear from Professor Ernst Wolvetang about his groups work on Organoids and how they are changing the game for personalised medicine as well as a quick behind the scenes tour of AIBN.

Tickets are strictly limited – Register now to secure your place.

Curate your day from a wide range of optional activities:

Free talks: Organoids, changing the game for personalised healthcare

Using one drop of blood, Professor Ernst Wolvetang and his team can grow a miniature version of your brain to test how your cells age and respond to therapeutic drugs. This ground breaking research is leading the way in understanding and treating diseases like epilepsy and Alzheimer’s. Join Professor Wolvetang at the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN) to discover how this work is leading to personalised healthcare for every Australian.

Free tours: Go behind the scenes at the AIBN to see how bioengineering and nanoscience are changing the world

Organoids, flexible batteries and future foods made from carbon capture, are just some of the exciting projects happening within the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN). Go behind the scenes and tour the labs to learn first-hand how AIBN researchers are solving society’s most serious problems in health, energy and the bioeconomy.  Lab tour safety requirements: attendees must be aged 15+ and wear fully covered, comfortable, fluid resistant shoes without high or narrow heels (min 25mm wide, max 50mm high).
