Industrial collaborations

The AIBN is an IP-rich environment with innovative technologies, cutting edge capabilities, acknowledged research leaders and a culture of collaboration. It adds value through the research and development of new processes, technologies, materials and devices in the following areas:

  • Regenerative medicine: biology, stem cells, organoids, micro-bioreactors and novel scaffolds
  • Nanotechnology for point-of-care diagnostics
  • Bioprocessing and small-scale manufacture of biologics and biologic therapeutics
  • Nanotechnology-based molecular imaging and drug delivery
  • Bioprocessing and small-scale manufacture of biologics and biologic therapeutics
  • Systems metabolic engineering for enhanced  production of fuels, chemicals and biopharmaceuticals
  • Nanotechnology for energy and environmental applications
  • Nanocellulose platform technology to develop innovative and sustainable high-performance materials
  • Nanoparticle production and analysis capabilities
  • Polymeric/inorganic nanocomposites and assemblies for applications ranging from therapeutics,  diagnostics, and molecular imaging to advanced lithography
  • Creation of complex polymer architectures that can be custom designed to suit specific applications.
  • Nanoarchitectured design of nanocrystals and nanoporous materials with controlled compositions and morphologies for practical applications including batteries, fuel cells, solar cells, chemical sensors, field emitters, and photonic devices

AIBN is ready, willing and able to work for, or with, industry. The Institute can undertake R&D with flexible arrangements to meet partner’s needs, including:

  • consulting;
  • partnering on competitive funding applications;
  • contract research;
  • research services through our facilities;
  • collaborative research.

For speculative, strategic or long-term corporate initiatives, it is also possible to sponsor postgraduate research students to explore new areas of research.
