Nicholle specialises in the synthesis and characterisation of organic materials for applications in optoelectronics.

Nicholle Wallwork undertook her undergraduate studies at The University of Queensland, graduating in 2017 with a Bachelor of Nanotechnology and Innovation Management with Honours (Class 1a). Continuing at UQ, Nicholle completed her PhD in 2022 at the School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences (SCMB) in the Centre of Organic Photonic & Electronics (COPE) under the supervision A/Prof. Shih-Chun (Lawrence) Lo and A/Prof. Ebinazar Namdas. Her research focused on the synthesis of highly emissive organic materials for applications in OLEDs, and organic lasers. Following this, in 2022, Nicholle was employed as a postdoctoral researcher in COPE, under the supervision of Prof. Paul Burn, working towards synthesis of OPV materials. Currently, Nicholle works as a postdoctoral researcher in the AIBN under the supervision of Prof. Michael Monteiro.
