Jie’s research focuses on the design of ordered mesoporous materials, covalent organic frameworks, and other functional porous materials for environmental remediation and sustainable resource recovery. Her current work includes catalytic degradation of emerging contaminants, selective extraction of lithium and other critical metals, and the recycling and upcycling of spent lithium-ion batteries.
Dr Jie Wang is a postdoctoral researcher in Professor Yusuke Yamauchi’s group at the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology, The University of Queensland. She previously conducted postdoctoral research in Japan as a Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Fellow and was awarded an Australian Research Council Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (ARC DECRA). Her research focuses on the design and synthesis of functional porous materials, including ordered mesoporous materials and covalent organic frameworks, for environmental remediation and sustainable resource recovery. Her current research interests include the selective extraction of lithium and other critical metals, the recycling and upcycling of spent lithium-ion batteries, and the catalytic degradation of environmental pollutants. By integrating porous-material design, interfacial engineering and electrochemical processes, her work aims to develop sustainable technologies for pollution control, critical-mineral recovery and circular battery systems.
