Shengyong Gao specialises in theoretical and analytical materials science: sodium/lithium-based batteries and aqueous batteries.

Mr. Shengyong Gao is currently a PhD student in Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN) at the University of Queensland (UQ) under the supervision of Prof. Bin Luo. He received his bachelor's degree in Beijing University of Chemical Technology in July 2021 with the award of Excellent Graduation Thesis of Beijing. In September 2022, he joined Hong Kong University of Science and Technology as a master student majoring in analytical chemistry and then received the First Prize Analytical Chemistry Achievement Awards. His current research focus on advanced battery materials, single-atom modified carbon electrodes/hosts, solid polymer electrolyte and crystals for lithium ion conduction.
