Hannes is working on producing high intensity sweeteners in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
Hannes received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Biochemistry at the Technical University of Munich where he focused on protein biochemistry. During his Master's Thesis, he worked with Prof. Gary Schenk at the University of Queensland and Prof. Volker Sieber from TUM on the enzyme KARI for the sustainable production of aviation fuels.
