Precise fermentation, metabolic engineering

Peizhen completed her undergraduate degree in Food Science and Technology at Jiangnan University and then completed her Master’s degree in Food Science and human nutrition at the National University of Singapore. In the past three years, drawn to the field of biosynthesis, she worked on precise fermentation and has honed her skills in molecular biology, and be able to produce high-value compounds that are scarce in nature via yeast fermentation. Currently, she focuses on producing raspberry ketone-a valuable and popular ingredient derived from raspberries via yeast chassis and improve its yield. She also aims to produce other valuable compounds and develop a platform strain.
