Mariano's research centers on exploring the interactions between the oncogene myc and mRNA-encoded scFvs, with the aim of identifying potential drug candidates for liver cancer.

Mariano is an mRNA researcher currently pursuing a Masters of Biotechnology Research Extensive program at the BASE Facility, Cheetham Group, in the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN). His research focuses on targeting the oncogene myc through the development and evaluation of single-chain variable fragments (scFvs) as potential mRNA drug candidates for liver cancer. With a strong background in synthetic biology, bioinformatics, and molecular biology, Mariano has previously contributed to various research projects involving the design of plasmids for gene expression regulation, the study of viral pathogens, and the characterization of microbial species. His current work aims to enhance the efficacy and stability of scFvs in cytoplasmic environments, potentially offering new therapeutic avenues in cancer treatment.
