Basiram specialises in developing gas separation and ion exchange membrane
Basiram's research focuses on the development of advanced polymeric membranes for gas separation and ion exchange applications aimed at environmental sustainability. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Bristol, UK, under the guidance of Prof. Charl F. J. Faul. His doctoral research focused on the design and synthesis of metal-free porous polyimides, with a particular emphasis on their application in CO₂ capture and catalytic conversion to valuable fuels and chemicals.
