Emerging contaminants elimination; Biological N removal; Resource recovery

Chenkai is a researcher in environmental engineering with a strong interest in advancing sustainable technologies for wastewater treatment and resource recovery. He earned his PhD from the University of Queensland, where his research focused on energy-efficient biological nitrogen removal processes such as partial nitrification and n-DAMO, as well as strategies for heavy metal removal and recovery from sludge. Currently, his work explores innovative methods for the rapid and sustainable removal of PFAS from biosolids, with a particular emphasis on interfacial separation techniques such as foam fractionation. Chenkai’s research combines fundamental understanding of microbial and interfacial processes with practical applications to address pressing environmental challenges.
