Shiva Muthuswamy specialises in Modulating the matrix remodelling functionalities of osteocyte by fine tuning the secretome via synthetic extracellular matrices
Shiva Muthuswamy’s research focuses on the understanding of how the extracellular biophysical cues in the 3D synthetic biomimetic matrix dynamically modulates the cell behaviour, as well as the matrix remodelling functionalities of osteocytes through monitoring the expressions of various proteins in an unbiased approach.
Shiva Muthuswamy earned his Bachelor's of Technology in Industrial Biotechnology from SASTRA University, India in 2014 and Master of Technology in Molecular Medicine from Amrita centre for Nanosciences and Molecular medicine, India in 2018. In 2021, he started his PhD in Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology at the University of Queensland under the supervision of Prof. Alan Rowan, Dr Jan Lauko and Dr Amanda Kijas.
