Antonia specialises in the conversion of methane and carbon dioxide into biopolymers

Antonia recently started her HDR studies in the Marcellin lab focusing on methane and carbon dioxide utilization for biopolymer production with methano- and hydrogenoptrophic bacteria.

She completed her bachelor's in biotechnology in 2023 (Emden, Germany) with a thesis (equivalent to honours) in the group of Esteban Marcellin, where she focused on pathway elucidation in the model acetogen Clostridium autoethanogenum. Afterwards she worked as a research assistant with Q-MAP (Queensland  Metabolomics and Proteomics) and the Marcellin group in the fields of proteomics and gas fermentation.
