
In her project, Antonia interrogates alternative carbon fixation pathways in the acetogen Clostridium autoethanogenum. This bacterium is a model CO2-fixing organism and is utilised in industrial-scale processes designed by LanzaTech (Skokie, USA) to produce ethanol. Further insight into the metabolic network might help to establish a more efficient work host for the sustainable production of chemicals
