Qiaoyun specialises in MOF materials, high spatial resolution MRI technology, cancer diagnosis and treatment
Qiaoyun completed her Master's degree in China in 2018 before commencing her Ph.D. journey at UQ under the guidance of Professor Andrew Whittaker at the AIBN in 2019. During her Master's program, she gained substantial knowledge in the synthesis of MOF materials and delved into exploring their properties in relation to their structural aspects. Later, throughout her PhD studies, Qiaoyun devoted herself to comprehensive research on MOF materials, with a specific focus on their utilization in MRI imaging and their applications in cancer diagnosis through imaging techniques.
Industry
Industrial Research Internship (Capricornia Contact Lens Pty Ltd) – Chemist (May 2023 – June 2023)
Funding: Career Development Scholarship
Key tasks:
- Assist with the preparation of formulations for the manufacture of contact lenses.
- Assist in the evaluation of material safety.
- Contribute to the analysis of spectroscopic data for certain lenses, aiming to comprehend the impact of the lens surface's chemical composition on lens wettability.
