Project Summary
This project aims to test fungal strains and microorganisms adapted to the harsh conditions of mine waste, such as red mud, to produce organic acids that effectively bind to and isolate critical elements. The goal is to potentially create new metal extraction processes, utilising the unique abilities of fungi to thrive in extreme environments.
