Computational biophysics: membranes, membrane-protein interaction, and nanoparticle and polymer simulation
Dr Sheikh Imamul Hossain is working as a postdoctoral research fellow (molecular dynamics) at the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN) at the University of Queensland. Previously, he completed his postdoctoral work at the University of Sydney, funded by the Australian Research Council (ARC) Centre of Excellence in Exciton Science and at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS).
A mathematician by training, he was awarded his PhD in computational biophysics from UTS in 2020 for his work on how nanoparticles interact with lung surfactant monolayers using Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulations. Post PhD, he worked on industry and ARC-funded projects to expand his computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and computational biophysics skills. His research mainly focuses on computational biophysics and materials, including membranes, membrane-protein interaction, polymers, interactions between small molecules with membranes, and nanoparticle simulation in biological environments.
