Dr Xiaodan Huang specialises in Functional Nanomaterials for Electrochemical Energy Storage

Electrochemical energy storage and conversion systems, which primarily include rechargeable batteries and supercapacitors, are among the leading technologies that have been projected to provide the solution to the complex energy storage gridlock. This project aims to develop advanced electrochemical energy storage systems with high energy density, high power density, and long serving life for diverse applications. Dr Xiaodan Huang is part of a team designing new protocols to prepare nanostructured materials (patented), including carbon, metal oxides and their composites, for a broad spectrum of energy storage applications.

Dr Xiaodan Huang graduated with a PhD degree in Inorganic Chemistry in June 2012 from Fudan University, China. During his PhD study, CI Huang had worked as an Occupational Trainee at AIBN, UQ, under the supervision of Professor Chengzhong (Michael) Yu (Jun. 2011 to Feb. 2012). After his PhD, Dr Xiaodan Huang worked at University of Technology Sydney (UTS) for two years, as a full-time research fellow under the supervision of Professor Guoxiu Wang. He is currently a UQ Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Professor Chengzhong (Michael) Yu's group at UQ's AIBN.
