Stephanie is a PhD student focusing on neuroinflammation and metabolism in Motor Neuron Disease (MND)

Stephanie started in the Ngo Neurometabolism group as a volunteer, gaining experience both in the wet lab and in a clinical research setting.

She commenced her honours degree in 2020, looking at modelling changes in metabolic hormones to track metabolic dysregulation and disease progression in people living with MND.

In October of 2021, she commenced her PhD candidature, focussing on the progression of neuroinflammation and how it might relate to metabolism in MND. As part of her PhD, she is working with clinical patient data, mouse models of MND, and in vitro patient-derived 2D and 3D models of disease.
