Cory's PhD focuses on combining clinical and wet lab work (face-to-face patient research and assessment of human samples/biofluids) with dry lab work (advanced statistical approaches) to decipher the heterogeneity of MND, and developing tools for the remote monitoring of patients outside traditional clinical settings.

Cory completed his honours in the Ngo lab during which he investigated the use of biomarkers for tracking disease progression in people living with MND. Following his honours, Cory continued in the lab as a research assistant, strengthening clinical research ties with collaborators in Utrecht, Netherlands. In 2020, Cory commenced his PhD at the AIBN.
