Immunology and cell biology: myeloid cells, the complement system and the innate immune response in disease processes

The Rolfe group, led by Dr Barbara Rolfe is investigating the role of the innate immune system in diseases such as cancer.

Major research interests include:

  1. the mechanisms by which the innate immune system influences the anti-tumour response,
  2. biomedical applications of nanomaterials, and how the immune system influences their in vivo fate, and;
  3. how this information can be translated into novel therapeutic approaches.
