Cancer is one of the deadly diseases in the world with with more than 10 million new cases every year. Over 8 million patients are killed by the cancer. Among cancer treatment, chemotherapy is one of the major treatment options for these cancer patients. However, the multidrug resistance (MDR) to chemotherapy quickly developed during the treatment is the single most important reason for treatment failure in these cancer patients. Thus, design and development of safe and effective platforms for drug delivery is imperative to cancer treatment. This project aims to use nanotechnology to develop anticancer drug formulation to efficiently deliver drugs to the tumor sites and enhance the treatment efficiency.
