Thomas Quinn specialises in Chemistry: material science
Thomas Quinn is currently developing a series of smart materials using 3D printing that incoporate NIPAM and liquid metal nanoparticles. He plans to use these materials for 4D printing to achieve desirable shape manipulation that can be useful for actuation. These materials may one day be the future for many applications, including but not limited to biomedicine, soft robotics and much more.
Thomas Quinn has been a student at UQ studying a Batchelor of Advanced Science since 2019. In 2023, he completed a semester long research project in the Qiao group and has since moved forward to complete his honours with the group.
