Polymer Science, 3D Printing and Nanomedicine

Liwen's research is focused on the development of 3D printing and Nanotechnology for biomedicine. He has some experience in developing advanced photocatalysts to fabricate polymeric materials by photopolymerization. He is also interested in designing smart probes for tumour imaging and therapy.

Liwen Zhang has completed his PhD in Cluster for Advanced Macromolecular Design and Australian Centre for NanoMedicine at The University of New South Wales in 2022 under the supervision of Professor Cyrille Boyer. His PhD was on developing metalloporphyrin-based photocatalysts for photopolymerization and stereolithography. In January 2022, Liwen joined the Davis/Qiao groups at the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN), where he is a full-time researcher developing nanoparticles-based 3D printing technology for bone tissue regeneration and tumour treatment.
